Do it yourself beeswax wraps: The perfect gift for your favourite DIY-er, rainy day activity or eco-warrior!
Each pack includes:
3x pieces of repurposed cotton fabric (6x6, 9x9 and 12x12 inch)
4x pure beeswax blocks (you should have a bit extra left over to reset your wraps later down the line)
You will need:
Parchment paper (eco friendly option advised!)
The perfect alternative to plastic wrap, these bee wax beauties will keep your food super fresh!
How to Make:
Step 1: To prep, set your oven to 100 C. Grate your wax blocks down with enough to cover all three pieces of fabric (you should have some left over for future use when re-setting your wraps)
Step 2: Place your fabric onto parchment paper on a baking tray. If your fabric is one sided, make sure the pattern is face up.
Step 3: Evenly sprinkle a nice amount of beeswax all over the fabric including the edges.
Step 4: Place the tray in the oven for about 4-8 minutes or until the wax melts completely. Take the tray out and use a paintbrush to spread the wax evenly over the entire fabric.
NOTE: The beeswax will stick to the brush, so use one you're okay allocating to make future beeswax wraps.
Step 5: Carefully lift the wrap from the tray and hang in the air for a few seconds to dry. The wax will cool quite quickly, so you can hang on a line or chair to solidify.
No fabric gone to waste!
Made from repurposed material and 100% pure bees wax.
Due to the nature of the repurposed material, fabric patterns will vary.
Choose from collection of different colour themes.
Use heat of your hands to mould the wrap around your fruit, vegetables, leftovers- anything!
After each use, rinse with cold water and mild soap. Use hands to gently brush off any excess food. Let air dry.
* Be sure not to use hot water as it will ruin your wrap
* Do not use on hot/oily food or raw meat.
Store in a cool, dry place.
Wraps can last 6-12 months. To refresh wraps, simply put in oven at the lowest setting for a few minutes until wax has melted. Hang to re-set the wax.
Flat-lay images are not 100% accurate. In general actual wraps are more vibrant. Each product is handmade and unique. There will not be another one made exactly like it and will not be available once it has sold. Please expect some imperfections, but know that each piece is made with love.
